Spiritist belief

QUESTION: Masters, my stepfather has recently passed away. Aside from the obvious tribulations the event has brought about, I’ve been trying to stay centered and understanding about it. At the same time, as is done according to the Spiritist belief, I’ve been looking for a way to get in touch with his spirit. Though I’m a firm believer in the doctrine, I still feel “weird” asking about / talking about this. I’m wondering if it’s something you could help me accomplish. It only seems natural that I need proof that a spirit’s life continues beyond our earthly life, and that my stepdad is there… and that he’s ok. Would it be possible to get in touch with his spirit? He used a specific word and a specific sign to denote the obvious… his affection during his life with us. What was that word and what was that sign? ~Patryk, USA

ANSWER: When people say that they believe in something and then question the premise of that belief, they are walking a tightrope between believing and knowing. If you only believe you got out of bed this morning, you might be sleep walking or having a lucid dream. But if you know you got up, because you are able to interact with the world, that is something definite.

When you feel weird about your beliefs, you have not totally accepted them—or at least you have not claimed them as your own. If you know that your beliefs are part of your life’s truth, they feel right and good to you and you will wish to share this acquired knowing with all.

What is standing in your way right now is your doubt. You don’t trust your ability to do what you believe others have done, simply because you have never done it before. The first time you try anything—walking, riding a bicycle, swimming, talking to spirits—you’re not sure you can do it. We can guarantee you one thing: if you don’t try, you will never accomplish anything new.

Your stepfather is with us and settling in, but he is not ready to communicate. He is still a little dazed by the transition. We are helping him get acclimated and he will be ready soon. Clear your mind, picture him as you remember him, and then open up a conversation. You may not hear and see him as you did when he had a human body, but he will find a way to let you know he is there.

Questions about the unseen

QUESTION: Masters, what would happen if I, my soul, abandon my body? Would it still be alive maintaining itself until its organs shut down? I’d like to understand what is a “higher self”? I know there is me because I am aware that I am. But then “having” higher me? Which is unconscious? I want to know also how can energy contain consciousness and why is there unconsciousness? I always felt a desire to understand what is the use of having the universe sooo huge and vast without being able to utilize it and live or experience it in any form? I’d like to greet my loving souls who are accompanying me in this journey and tell them I am grateful for their support. I do feel them all the time. ~Zeljka, Croatia

ANSWER: A human body cannot exist without a soul; it ceases to function all at once, not a gradual shutting down process.

You say you are aware of you, but are you when you are asleep? What most people call a higher self is the part of the soul that can make itself go from thoughts you are not aware of (unconsciousness) to retrieving those thoughts—as well as actions you have performed that you have forgotten about—and bringing them to the surface (consciousness), so that they become a part of your awareness and you can use them.

Everything that exists, both what you call physical and non-physical, is composed of energy. It is the driving life force. A thought is just energy until it is conveyed to another. Radio signals remain an energy stream floating in the air until someone turns on a receiver that can pick them up.

Your planet is vaster than you will ever need, but someone else uses it. The universe is tremendous by your measure but it is also being put to good use. There are hundreds of forms in addition to the human body.

Your guides are around you and know you can sense them. All you need do is open up the channels of communication. Ask them a question and you will be given an answer—though maybe not immediately and maybe not how you anticipate it should be. Be observant and patient.

Activities of twin flames

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

QUESTION: Masters, do twin flames separately exist at only certain stages of one’s soul evolution until enlightenment? Are sets of twins periodically merged at a spiritual level of being along the human journey, and when? Do twin flames always develop along polar personality/ego structures, while sharing a deeper essence? Can a twin flame exist as a walk-in to help one ascend, only to face rejection from the human host after the spiritual work is done? And lastly, have I ever met my twin incarnate and who was/is it? ~N., USA

ANSWER: Twin flames, after separation from Source, stay together for only a short time before they start their separate and individual life-lesson-filled journeys. There is no guarantee that they will even meet during a human incarnation unless it is pre-planned for one or both of them to learn a particular lesson. In most physical cycles twin flames do not meet.

The way a soul develops is a freedom of choice decision. There is no structure to the manner in which an enlightenment or a discovering of awareness occurs. One twin is not held back if the other is having difficulty with a particular lesson and must repeat it numerous times. They may choose opposite, parallel, or the same methods for learning; there is no absolute and only way. All souls have the essence of unconditional love.

The action of becoming a walk-in occurs when one soul has made the decision to return home, at which time his body would die. Another soul may ask for permission to use that body—or walk in—so that it skips all the maturing a body usually needs. Once the original soul vacates the body it never returns to that same body. It is going home for a reason and goes on with its business, completely forgetting about the body it left behind. Two active souls do not have control of and share a single body. Walk-ins enter a body to finish their own work, not to be available to help someone else.

You have not, in this lifetime, met your twin, who is not currently in body form.
