Incarnation and amnesia

QUESTION: Masters I was reading “exploring reincarnation” the other day and a question occurred to me. I understand people are born with amnesia to experience life lessons, but I was wondering about the people (kids in particular) who remember past lives due to a traumatic death, and have night-terrors and are usually detached from the life they live now and tend to cling to a past life. I get the feeling the soul still has some healing to do? ~Matt, England

ANSWER:  You are right and you are wrong about the conclusions you have stated because the size of your sample is so small. There are a few souls who meet the criterion of your statement, but there are many more who do not and yet still have past-life memories.

Since a soul incarnates to learn lessons and gather wisdom about itself, it comes with amnesia as to the choices it has made for that lifetime. For most people with  past-life remembrances, the memories concern issues that they have not chosen to deal with in this particular life, but that contain energy that is very important to their overall journey through humanity.

Let’s talk about children’s memories for a moment. When a soul comes to Earth, and the amnesia pertains to their current lessons, they may maintain a continued dialogue with past occurrences. While the souls whose memories deal with traumatic events are the ones reported most often because of the intensity, they are in the minority.

Most children still remember a very beloved member of their family, a particular location they loved, or a hobby or occupation about which they were passionate. If no one tells them they are imagining things, they may hold this through their life and integrate it into the new life. If repeatedly told it is a dream, they will set it aside and lose all memory.

The traumatic recall from another life may be so overwhelming that a person has to heed its energy. This will always be a lesson they did not learn, and their soul’s desire that they complete it, understand it, and send it into knowledge overpowers what is right in front of them.

Until they address the fear, anger, sense of betrayal, guilt, or other emotion that is powering the event, it will take over their life. It is not a sense of healing but one of completing by understanding why they chose that lesson in the first place. Hypnosis is an easy way to approach resolution.

Believing in yourself

QUESTION: Masters, my husband and I have recently been discovering our spirituality and it feels great! Our relationship has been tested over time. We are an interracial couple, together for 7 years and his family disapproves of us because I am not from their caste. Our differences were never an issue to us and we are way better people together than we were apart. We eloped one year ago. His family still doesn’t know and still dislike me because of my race. How can my soul grow from this? Right now I’m having a hard time not being angry at them. How can I learn to let go and forgive? My husband on the other hand is such a forgiving, kind soul. He really is my better half. ~Holly, USA

ANSWER: Congratulations on living your own life and not listening totally to the prejudices of others. You and your husband chose your diversity as the impediment for your life lessons. You made a contract before coming to Earth to make this so and to be there for each other.

Spirituality deals primarily with getting to understand who you are as a soul and stepping away from the societal norms, which are governed by the ego. The ego uses judgment to make all its decisions. People take a particular “side” about everything: it is good or bad, better than or less than, right or wrong. This forms the basis of their personality and the way they interact with others.

Spirituality steps away from judgment and uses evaluation instead. The only question becomes: Is that a place I think I can learn something, or is it something I wish to stay away from? Nothing is right or wrong in the spiritual sense; it is merely a lesson someone has chosen to learn. You then become a “witness” to the choices others have made about their opinions, without judging if they differ from your own.

Your journey is defining who you wish to be and accepting who you are. You let go of the way others think your life should be; that is their problem to deal with, not yours. Don’t worry about the insensitivity of your in-laws. Be yourself, be happy, live your life.

Your soul grows with each bit of wisdom it takes in. The fact that you can only live your own life and can never affect another’s unless they allow you to is a fantastic realization. Let go of trying to control or convert your husband’s family – they have to make their own decisions and learn to live with them. Decide to be unaffected by their tunnel vision. They can’t see the love you share with your beautiful mate because they are blinded by their rigid upbringing. Don’t let any of this tarnish your life and love.

QUESTION: Masters I’m really frustrated and tired of this huge fear and anxiety caused by other people. Do I still have that much negativity and unsolved things in me or is it more that my sensitiveness can’t stand common energies with people? I hope you understand what I mean. Can you say what the best steps for me to take consciously are? ~A., Finland

ANSWER: You are on Earth to go through the life lessons you chose before coming. This journey is yours alone. You don’t have to have any interaction with others unless you so choose. The first step is to find out who you are (a soul with fabulous abilities) and then to go about defining and accepting the wisdom your lessons provide.

Your lessons have signposts around them to let you know where they are – those notices are fears and doubts. Your reaction to others alerts you to the fact that you wanted to deal with the way the actions of others make you feel.

You need to ask yourself what it is you actually fear; is it what these people are saying and thinking about you? If it has to do with anyone but you, why are you giving any of your life over to it? You can never make humans change their mind about something unless they choose to do it, so why bother?

And how do you know what they are thinking or saying unless they tell you? If you are guessing, you are doing yourself a disservice by thinking only negative thoughts. If they are really saying negative things to and about you, simply ignore them. The words cannot hurt you unless you let them by believing anything negative you may perceive. Stop listening and interpreting what you think they mean.

Your anxiety is an expectation that what you are thinking is going to happen or is true. So what? Get rid of the expectations; they are toxic and confining. Live in the moment. You have the ability to create your world within the observable area of your being. Fill all your thoughts and feelings with the unconditional love that is your soul’s essence.

There is a lot of negative energy in the world. Keep it away from you by drowning it in positive love energy any time it appears. Stop when you feel attacked and bring in love from the universe. You will no longer be able to feel the negativity.
