Taking instructions

QUESTION: Masters, I am getting up in years and feel I have not completed my soul’s purpose. I’ve been told, by a channeled angel, that I’m supposed to write a book to complete that overall purpose, but don’t want to do that for many reasons. I feel I am not able to communicate well, and also I sense there wouldn’t be any interest in what I have to share. Is there another way I can complete this purpose without writing this book? Is there, perhaps, just one person I should communicate what I’ve learned to?   ~Pat, USA

ANSWER: We are chuckling at your “up in years” comment. If you only knew how ancient your soul was, you would be trembling in your physical form. Age means absolutely nothing, even within a physical lifetime, unless you give it control over your journey. You have hundreds of more lifetimes to experience and plenty of Earth years in this body, if you seek them.

Whenever one of us gives a message to a human it is for purposes of counsel only—it is not a command. If ever a supposed communicator for us states that we said “you shall,” she is not getting the translation accurate. We will sometimes remind souls what they had decided they were going to complete within an incarnation, but it is always souls’ freedom of choice to change or alter their plans. There are no “musts” or “shoulds” contained in a life purpose.

You did want to use the knowledge you have gained during this lifetime to share with others, so they may more readily reach the same level of awareness that you have obtained. This you thought could be done through the writing of a book, but that was only one possibility. By sharing your knowledge with even one person you will have completed your desired activity.

Living in negativity and despair

QUESTION: Masters, I have a brother who has been unemployed for the past eight years after he was retrenched from his company. He tried his hand at various businesses but failed. He became ill with arthritis soon after. My brother is devoted to a spiritual guru, waking up at 5 a.m. daily to do prayers for the guru. But his behavior is very unbecoming of a spiritual person. He hurts people’s feelings easily with his harsh words. His wife and children are fed up with his behavior. He appears to be suffering from low self-esteem. He does not seem to be putting in enough effort to contribute to the family income now that he is on the road to recovery. He does make an effort to meditate daily but recently he has been out of sorts, not being able to sleep, to say his daily prayers in the morning, or to meditate. I believe he is a good man at heart. I have always known him to be hardworking and an organized person and it pains me to see him like this. What is wrong with my brother?  ~Kala, Singapore

ANSWER: Your brother has chosen negativity instead of loving positive energy. He felt betrayed by the loss of his employment and victimized by everyone around him. The arthritis was called to him to justify his thoughts of the world being against him. He turned to his guru to rescue him from the evil surrounding him. When all his wants were not satisfied by his devotion, he became even more bitter.

He then brought in more negative energy because in his misery he wanted company. Some of the negativity that he called to himself was of a soul that had passed out of its body but chose not to go back Home, what we call a “discarnate.” This entity has taken almost complete control over him of late. What he reflects to others is pure negative thoughts and deeds.

This energy makes him feel powerful. It is true he has low self-esteem for he feels he must ally himself with this negativity and that is the only way he can feel comfortable and in control. The only hope you and his family have of seeing the old person is to get him to renounce the being that is attached to him. Convince him that he needs positive energy to recapture his previous existence.

When he consents, gather as many energy healers and friends as you can. They don’t have to physically be in the same room, but at the same time have them intentionally send him love and healing energy. The dark entity will not want to be anywhere near that much love and will depart. Reinforce for your brother what has happened, so he does not choose to invite the entity back.

The scary future

QUESTION: Masters, I am on a constant spiritual awakening pathway. I am a single mom with two young boys, 8 and 10, and I am 48 years old. I am not working right now and want to be working. I am thinking of starting a shop or workshop destination providing all products and services based from a spiritual enlightenment base. Should I be pursuing this as a career for myself? Will it be able to provide for myself and my family? I am fearful to start this. I do desire it, but I want to make sure this is what I should be doing at this time.  ~Kathleen, Canada

ANSWER: Your mantra should be “freedom of choice, freedom of choice, freedom of choice.” It has been easy during your trials to rely upon the advice of others. It is now time to step up and move away from supports. Find your answers within. Take the time to go inside and see what your ideal work environment should be; this can be determined by what feels right to you at the moment. There are no rights and wrongs in your human experience.

You need to be responsible for your own future. You are going between being a mother responsible for all and a frightened soul who wants to just follow someone else’s instructions. You want not to be responsible for your own life. You can do that, but if you do you will not have the opportunity to learn the lessons you came down to Earth to complete.

You are an older soul who has had many lifetimes, and the feeling you have toward all things spiritual is an inkling of your vast knowledge. Your urges are calling out to move forward, but your lack of faith in yourself is applying the brakes. You need to access the strength that is at your core and use that energy to know you can do whatever it is you wish to experience.

Go into the fears that barricade you. Look them in the face, and see what is there. Most are just a voice in your head, which appeared when your life fell apart. They are the voices of society, friends, and relatives, telling you what society would do in your circumstances. You picked yourself up then, and you can do it now, as well, without needing to rely on them. Follow your internal feelings for the path you need.
