Lessons repeated

QUESTION: Masters, I have a friend of 20 years whom I love dearly but who also drives me nuts. The most annoying and disappointing aspect of this for me is the ‘controlling’ aspects of me that come to the fore around her. We often laugh that I was her older sister (amongst other roles) in a previous life. Can you please throw some light on this dynamic and explain to me why I can’t seem to create a friendship that feels truly equal in spite of my discomfort, and what the soul lesson is here?   ~Dany, UK

ANSWER: Your dear friend is one of your soul group. Whenever souls wish to have an in-your-face experience, where they are forced to confront something they have shied away from, they ask a soul mate to be the ignition that sets the fire ablaze. You are a master of evasion. Simmering beneath the surface is a need to be always in control. Most of the time you contain it, but when your friend comes around she knows the right buttons to push to let it surface.

The lesson of controlling others has been a recurring one for you. Many lifetimes you have tried to learn and understand this lesson without success. You decided this life was the one where the details of unconsciously pushing and directing others would become a thing of the past. Your friend was to be there to keep prodding you until you stopped and figured out what causes your need to know what is coming next, and what each person around you is going to do.

You need to understand that control is really an illusion. It is impossible to control others unless they allow you to have power over them. Your friend first lets you think you can call the shots and then plants her feet and says “no way,” at which point you erupt because your plan is foiled. Go into the energy within your reaction and see what the feelings consist of which are emerging when you are challenged. That’s where your lesson lies. Acknowledge them, confront them, defuse them, no longer need them.

Is the universe scaring us off?

QUESTION: Masters, since reading Michael Newton’s books on life-between-life (LBL) hypnotherapy, my sister and I have thought about having sessions. We scheduled with a therapist in England in April, but were not able to go due to a family illness. A few weeks ago we scheduled our sessions for November with another therapist just a few hundred miles away. We again had to cancel due to medical reasons. Now we are wondering whether our being deterred from doing LBL sessions, not just once but twice, is supposed to mean that we should not go through with them. We are worried because the reasons we could not go are serious ones and we would not want to risk another incident of this kind. Will you kindly let us know whether this is a case of third time lucky or if we are not meant to do LBL séances at all?  ~CC, Germany

ANSWER: We find it interesting that you chose the word séances to refer to accessing your life-between-life memories. A séance speaks of outside spirits coming to interact with you. LBL sessions deal with you confronting your soul when it is not engaged in a particular life to obtain knowledge that may help you in your current life.

Both you and your sister have mixed emotions and thoughts about undertaking this hypnotherapy. You seek to discover as much about yourself as possible, but at the same time you fear what you might discover. You hope this procedure will answer questions for you, which it will, but your unwillingness to face the cause of obstacles in this life make you pause. You want to know what it is that will be revealed before you undertake the procedure.

You have unconsciously sensed when you would not allow yourself to complete this exercise and that was when you scheduled the previous appointments. That way you could blame medical intervention for postponing your regression without having to deal with the doubts and fears. This start-stop scenario brought the energy of negativity into your home and has intensified the fear you have over those shadows in your closet.

Both of you could learn valuable information concerning blockages and strengths that you possess, which is the cause of the disruption in your life. You need to understand that while some of the things you will confront are unpleasant, none can harm you physically. Gaining information about yourself helps you clear the problems and move into a more productive life.

Relax; if you wish to reschedule your sessions, look upon them as an adventure, somewhat like going to the movies. The only difference is that the subject/star of the movie is you.

Bringing non-physical aspects into awareness

QUESTION: Masters, I have a few questions: 1. I saw the sphinx flying around about 10 yrs ago. What was the point of my seeing it as a living entity? 2. I have serious money issues; it seems nothing I do to get money works. Can you give me any kind of advice? 3. How do I open my 3rd eye? Communicate with spirits? Practice magic, etc.? 4. What is my purpose for being here?                              ~Roderick, USA

ANSWER: As much as you yearn for contact with non-physical entities outside yourself, you fear and doubt their existence. The sphinx apparition was to show you that there is much more than the limited physical world and its third-dimensional plane, the solid stuff. You have needed a physical manifestation as validation in order to readily accept and believe that something exists.

You are so much more than you think. The first step to reach any of the results you seek is faith in your own powers. If you can accept that you have the abilities you seek—from making money, to communicating with spirits, to creating realities—you will find you in fact can do these things with little difficulty. The sphinx energy dropped by to let you get an appreciation for what you were missing by being so closed to your essential power.

Before anything else you need to banish negativity from your world. Anytime “I can’t do that” pops up, replace it with “I have the ability to do that.” You then need the five stages of inner knowledge we often cite; follow them to achieve your definition of success: accept, believe, know, do, become.

Your purpose in life is to learn and understand about the essence of yourself. Use these tools and you will get what you seek, both on this physical plane and on your spiritual life-lesson journey.
