Masters, I want very much to know exactly what my soul’s purpose is in this life and how I can make a living doing it.   ~Lynn, Canada

ANSWER: We told you shortly after the first of the year that “what is a life- purpose?” is a frequently asked question. Here is a sampling of the ways that it may be stated. Most people seem to think that if they are unaware of their purpose in life, they are doing something wrong. Let us repeat one of our mantras: “Nothing is right or wrong.” And another: “You are always exactly where you need to be to learn the lessons you sought.”

When you decided to make a trip to planet Earth (that we call reincarnation), you didn’t do it on the spur of the moment with no thought or planning beforehand. You researched all the possible things you wanted to experience within the duality of Earth, and what you would most like to learn. These situations are called life- lessons. You queried your advisors, your council of twelve souls who had studied the same types of lessons before you, and your various soul mates. Then, and only then, you decided what you wanted to do. These lessons are the purpose you had in reincarnating.

To ensure that you would experience these desired lessons, you made contracts with other souls to help you set up the necessary staging for the events. Some of the incidents would be considered as positive in the realm of humanity and others as negative. Your purpose was to figure out what you wished to learn and then, in understanding it, find the wisdom beneath that could be applied to all other events in your soul’s continuing lifetimes. To reiterate let us finish as we did in January:

“The one purpose you always incarnate with is to find what it is that you wanted to accomplish. If we told you the specifics of each lesson you had decided to learn, you would be missing half the process. When you were in school, if the teacher had only given you the answers to questions without first asking the questions, you would have learned nothing. For us to tell you the purpose you had in mind would be the same. In other words, discovering your purpose is your purpose.”

Free Will or predestination?

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: Masters, Is it true that humans have free will? How can that be true if we have planned our lives in advance?                   ~Erika, Sweden

ANSWER: What a lot of people call free will we refer to as the freedom of choice to decide the course of action you will take in any situation. The whole premise around entering into a duality is so that you may have choices. These choices facilitate the lessons you came to learn. If you had no free will or freedom of choice, you would be nothing more than an observer. If you have no selection concerning your actions, why not just stay at Home and watch others tackle the same lessons and see how things turn out for them?

But what happens if you are on the couch or the sidelines just watching what is going on in the game? You never feel what it is like to accomplish something. You see others making touchdowns and winning awards but you don’t know what it is like. In order to feel it and learn the lesson involved you must arrange a situation in which you can get the sensations yourself.

What the soul plans while still at Home is the type of lesson it wishes to learn. It may seek to experience being controlled by another, being abandoned, feeling isolated, being dependent. What is not decided in advance is exactly how that lesson is going to be played out. The soul will be presented with numerous situations, each of which represents the energy sought to be understood, and the soul then chooses the scenario in which it wishes to engage. Control may be as a slave, an employee, an abused spouse, or a member of a military organization. Abandonment may come from being orphaned, having a spouse leave the relationship, having an employer go bankrupt, or something similar. These decisions are not made until you are incarnate and are dependent on what choices you make along the way concerning family members, spouses, employment, etc.

Blocking Passion

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

QUESTION: Masters, I am an engineer facing a testing time in my life.  I have never been passionate about my profession. Recently I got interested in past-life regression therapy and attended a training program. I strongly feel that my life’s purpose in this incarnation is to heal. I have no doubt that I can contribute in healing work much more than I am presently doing in my career. I wish to become a full-time therapist and practice in my home country, India. This will also give me an opportunity to be with my mother, who is getting old. There are two blocks to this happening: I am well-paid in my profession; my wife wants me to take up full-time therapy after 10-15 years when I retire (I am now 46). The first block is easier to overcome: I am confident that with my good intention of doing healing work, the universe will support me and I will be provided with enough money to cater to my needs. What I am concerned about is how I can convince my wife. Please advise.  Also, is it possible to find out the right time to move back to India?  ~Sridhar, UAE

ANSWER: Until this stage in your life you have been living in your head, always thinking, thinking, thinking in the physical world. You recently had an experience where you were opened to the rest of existence, the non-physical world. This also awakened in you an awareness of energy vibrations in other people that may be sensed and balanced by those who are open and sensitive. This is the ultimate in healing of the physical body.

You have been a healer in many of your past lives and you sense the satisfaction that helping another can bring to you. Your engineering career was something that family and society drove you into. If you look back, you can see that you were convinced by others that it was the right thing for you to do. That was the reason you were never able to get passionate about your work.

The blockage you feel is really singular. All the negative energy is coming from your wife. She is used to being the wife of an engineer, a very prosperous, respected profession. She does not understand hypnosis, the unconscious mind, and the need to balance the energies within the body. You would be able to bring to you all the money necessary to support your family, but you would not be viewed by your wife as a professional person any longer. She feels she would lose status among family members, society, and her friends. Her fears cannot be overcome.

It is time for you to exercise your freedom of choice. If you are miserable in this current job it is time to ask yourself: what do you feel like doing? You have completed all of your life-lessons that you went to the UAE to learn. You will not find any additional spiritual learning experiences there. Remember there are no right or wrong answers to your questions, but it is vitally important to honor yourself.
