Changes, changes

QUESTION: Masters, this year I’ve been detoxifying my mind and body. I’m also eating healthier and have let go of addictions. Now I find that my hair is falling out, and I feel tired and dehydrated. Is this a passing phase, or do I need to do something to help my body and emotions through this change? Will I end up healthy and be able to let go of my chronic illness?  ~Angela, Australia 30/y

ANSWER: You have done all the physical things you could think of, but you have not handled all of the spiritual and emotional imbalances that existed. The mental detoxification that you performed dealt more with finding coping skills to prevent you from having to see the things that were bothering you than it did with learning the lessons behind the problems.

The place you find yourself right now is replaying some of the same situations again in the background because they were not finished. Dehydration and tiredness are  indications energy is being drawn off from your everyday needs to hold down the things that you buried under the coping methods. Start using the “Why” and “What” questions: Why do I feel this way? What is it that I am suppressing?

Your hair is another issue. You have done great in balancing your body nutritionally and chemically. What is happening is new growth; your hair is recreating itself with new and better materials—it is just a phase. Maintain your current eating habits and your nutritional balance will remain.

As to the future? That depends on you. Even your question indicates your doubt of releasing your chronic health problems. Why ever would you want to hold on to them? See yourself without them. Refuse to identify yourself with their names. Practice makes perfect.
