Plagued by past dreams
QUESTION: Masters I have a voice in my head that keeps telling me that a particular man loves me. I was in love with him for several years, but he chose not to pursue a relationship with me. I know now that we will never get together and I am over him and want to move on to be with a man who is right for me; someone who is ready and able to be with me. I don’t understand why I still keep getting messages that he loves me when I am not in love with him anymore and I know he doesn’t want to be with me. Why is this happening? What can I do to stop it as I am becoming frustrated by the senselessness of this situation? ~Genny, Australia
ANSWER: You are still infatuated with this man from your past. Your unconscious knows you put a lot of time and effort into trying to get him to notice you and decide whether or not he returned your interest. You built an imaginary life around him, the house you would have, the children, growing old together. When you see another man, you compare a possible life with him to the life you had imagined you could have with your first love.
You are actually blocking other men from seeing you and taking an interest because of this comparison running in the background. You will not be able to attract and keep another until you clear your yearning for this man. The voice is your dream state, which still sees ways that you can be together. While you think you are no longer in love with him, mostly because you know he has no desire for you, you still spend way too much time engaged in memories.
The first thing you have to do is be more present in the moment. Any time you start thinking about the past, even if it has nothing to do with this man, take an inventory about what you see right in front of you; this will bring you back to the here and now. Observe the trees, the weather, who passes by your house, everything that is happening in the now.
Souls are very powerful, with the ability to manifest what they desire. Normally it is done consciously, but when you have a historical record playing in the background, it can drown out your wishes. Start to put a picture of a desired mate into your mind: his age, his personality characteristics, the type of life you would like to build together. Project this out into the universe, and also let it infiltrate all aspects of your memory, covering over the things you no longer need.
The things that you want or need to experience get drawn to you by what you project as your current dream. Shape what you want and banish the past.
