What is Halloween?

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Note: We reprint this previously published message because is very appropriate at this season of the year. We hope you will enjoy the Masters’ timely words.

Dear Fellow Souls, a week from today is what people on Earth call All Hallows Eve, or Halloween. To many in the northern hemisphere it merely signals the change from summer into winter, a last chance before cold sets in for the children to have a romp outside. It is an opportunity to gather a horde of goodies for the winter just as the squirrels are preparing their winter stashes. Mirth and trick-or-treating is the assignment of the day. It is acceptable to dress up or disguise yourself so that you may play pranks on people without their knowing your true identity. You may be queen for a day, a pirate, or an alien—anything but whatever you are in real life. It is a chance to step out of yourself and seemingly not be responsible for your actions. For adults, it is a reverting back to their carefree childhoods when they could still dream of being a fireman or a ballet dancer.

But there is another reason to celebrate this day. The true origin of Halloween was to acknowledge and honor the spirit, a remembrance of all the physical lives and experiences your souls have led on Earth. It was also a time to help any soul that might be stuck on the physical plane to go into the Light (return Home). People went in search of the wayward souls and, with compassion, helped them to understand that they were no longer physical and were free to move on with no further earthly obligations.

Your media, who like to sensationalize everything to sell themselves, have taken this honorable task, switched the roles, and villainized the action. The poor stuck souls have turned into horrible, mindless, stalking images that roam the surface looking for unsuspecting humans to prey upon—to turn them into ghouls after sucking out their blood for nourishment! Halloween has become a time of frightening little children and for teens to see how brave they are.

We ask you to reflect on this thought. Let this be a day to renew your life’s mission of learning lessons. Remember all those who have gone before you were trailblazing the pathways back Home. The day following All Hallows Eve is called All Saints Day in many Christian denominations. Take a moment to reflect in particular upon those who have returned Home, both relatives and friends, who played a part in your own experience. Thank the teachers who had agreed to be here with you to keep you on your pre-determined track, but have now moved on. Celebrate the whole cycle of the soul, from Home, to earth, to Home again with a sense of gratitude.

Deciding your vote

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

QUESTION: Masters, modern elections are exhaustively followed by the media. As a result of all this information we get to know more about some candidates than we do about some of our relatives. Is it best for us to decide how to vote by putting more reliance on candidates’ policies? Or should we be giving more weight to what we evaluate to be their character?

ANSWER: As we always begin when you ask us to make up your mind for you, we say that you are on Earth to exercise your freedom of choice. Elections create unusual circumstances. You must first determine whether you are hearing in these media blasts the truth or simply fictions that one side or the other wants you to accept.

During a campaign many things factor into people’s general knowledge. The candidates have a picture they wish to present of themselves. The party to which each is affiliated has an agenda it wants to implement. The opposition wants to ridicule or blacken the image of, create fear of, and erode confidence in their opponent. It is within this hurricane that you receive your information.

During your present life you may have come to believe that one particular party stands for one thing and another for something totally different. Some people do not get beyond this reliance on history and will listen only to pronouncements from this source. But just as in the stock market, past results are not a guarantee of future performance.

Your question implies that you believe the candidate will fulfill all the stated policies he or she stood for during the campaign. However, whoever assumes the position sought will undoubtedly be presented with situations that could not possibly have been envisioned during the campaign; therefore, there is no policy that can cover all eventualities.

Let’s step back a moment and consider where all this conjecture has taken us. You may have spent an enormous amount of energy upon an issue that means nothing to your spiritual growth. You are right in saying it has an impact upon you because you are still in physical form. That we concede.

To answer your question, rely upon your awareness of your soul. Reach out for the vibration of each candidate. Do you resonate with the energy he or she puts out when speaking? Going over the multitude of interviews and information available, how does it feel to you? Is this person someone in whom you sense a basis of honesty and sincerity? Would you trust this person to drive your vehicle with your soul on board?

You have all the tools you need to make an evaluation. Don’t rest on the belief systems of another. Trust yourself.

Manifesting expectations

Monday, October 20th, 2008

QUESTION: Masters, if the soul is really doing the driving in our human life experience and wants to have certain experiences, does anything we do in our human form really change things? I ask because, honestly, I have not been able to manifest things that I as a human being want in this material world. If it was my soul’s intention to delve into the feeling of frustration, I think we’ve done that enough already.

ANSWER: It is interesting that you use the term frustration. It is a duality-based concept where the reality you need to create to learn your life lessons conflicts with the expectations of your human mind. Frustration occurs when you fight the circumstances you find you have drawn to yourself.

Within every daily experience it is possible to find lessons that are needed to move you forward in growth to a full understanding of your purpose on Earth. Living by expectation of what is possible obscures the minor but integral pieces of that learning. You do not see what is truly there but only that you have not accomplished what you think you should or want. This prolongs the time it takes to finish your lessons and get to the point where you are free to move on to desired experiences, such as manifesting for the simple fact of experiencing.

When a person becomes fixated on a certain outcome, and will accept that and nothing else, you will see they rarely attain the specific expectation. One of the reasons for this is that from moment to moment our knowledge and experience are shifting. Say that you wish to manifest monetary prosperity and become a millionaire, and you forsake all else in the search of money. You may get there by being ruthless and deceitful and completely miss the knowledge of self-love, self-worth, and the feelings of giving to and sharing with others that could also result in monetary rewards.

If you maintain a set expectation as an indication of growth, you will miss the opportunities available along the way that are even slightly divergent from your course. The reality that you were creating was constantly changing based upon your needs, so your expectation got further and further away from your desires as they existed at the time of its making.

If instead of expectations, you envision yourself prosperous in all aspects of your life, you will be aware of the steps you had to take to get there. These steps always include the lessons you pre-decided for this lifetime.
